Cheer for Google. This is an excellent example of conscience over commerce; I predict that in the long term this will work to Google’s advantage.

  1. The United Methodist Committee on Relief is another. All money donated goes directly to services for those affected. Administrative costs are paid by The Church.

  2. Such tragedy – I’ve avoided all other coverage outside of NPR since mainstream media seems too ghoulish. Thanks for the links to help. There’s so many good people and organizations out there helping, but I went with the Methodists because they’ve got Kenny.

  3. I agree Lily. We’ve been working alot of extra hours here to assist the relief effort and it was disappointing to see the news act like nothing at all was being done.

  4. I happened across 60 minutes last night (watching the news while doing laundry) and they were interviewing docs in the field. What I took away from that few minutes of coverage was the incredible people working diligently and nonstop. They explained the bottleneck of transport and supplies, etc. I appreciated their coverage because it was the aid personnel (& 82nd Reg.) telling the story. It is like an tidal wave of destruction being helped a cup at a time… not for lack of caring or trying but circumstance. The airport alone can’t handle all the help/supplies coming in!
I don’t know what you do Huck but god/love/buddha/etc. bless your efforts!
