Sarah Palin can’t be trusted.

Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda,”
The Branchflower Report

‘I’m thankful the Constitution would allow a bit more authority given to the vice president if that vice president so chose to exert it in working with the Senate and making sure that we are supportive of the president’s policies and making sure too that our president understands what our strengths are.”
“Well, our founding fathers were very wise there in allowing through the Constitution much flexibility there in the office of the vice president. And we will do what is best for the American people in tapping into that position and ushering in an agenda that is supportive and cooperative with the president’s agenda in that position. Yeah, so I do agree with him that we have a lot of flexibility in there, and we’ll do what we have to do to administer very appropriately the plans that are needed for this nation
.”-Sarah Palin, a week ago.

Certainly her advocates will be spinning lies overtime this weekend to somehow frame this as a sexist attack perpetrated by terrorists who support Obama (either that, or they’ll completely ignore it, as a scan of various right wing ‘news sites’ this evening reveals). It is astonishing how people who claim to love freedom will work so hard to put a tyrant on a throne. After spending the better part of the political season harping on Obama’s supposed lack of experience and the enthusiasm of his audiences as shallow and naive, these great minds have thrown their enthusuastic support for an inexpierenced unknown. There is no small measure of irony that Palin herself in her various attacks on Obama has tried to paint him with the brush of guilt by association and portray him as a mysterious unknown. Her own close associates are shady and it’s clear that even McCain didn’t really know anything about her when he chose her as his running mate other than that she would appeal to his base. Sarah Palin is unfit to serve as Vice President of the United States of America, and John McCain’s choice of her as his running mate reveals his rhetoric of ‘Country First’ is emptier than her resume. She is profoundly ambitious and ignorant, a combination deadly to a free society. She should withdraw herself from consideration immediately.

  1. Us Alaskans most certainly did not know enough about Palin when we elected her (hell, I voted for her). All of this information now coming out about her is rather scary. She’s assuredly lost so much of the political capital and good-will that she earned through her initial campaign, her ouster of the state Republican establishment, and her working on the natural gas pipeline with Democrats this years.

  2. Operator 101-
I just got a chance to check out your blog and I was struck by certain similarities in our situations. I, too, started my proto blog in ’97 and haven’t updated it since I started blogging at WordPress. I also like Dreamweaver but find that timewise it’s much more efficient to simply do my daily blogging here and am actually posting my artwork here more often as well. Anyway…

I agree with you about Palin. We share a midwest perspective and since you’re an Alaska transplant you probably have a better vantage point. Everything I learn about makes me dislike the idea of her wielding power even more. Thank you so much for your enlightening comments.
